Scheduling - To initiate services in the Charles E. and Geneva S. Scott Scottish Rite Communications Disorders Clinic, call the office at 828-262-2185 to make an appointment and to receive the necessary forms. You also may click here to access the appropriate forms in a Microsoft Word format.
Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. If you reach the answering service, please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
- We are open year-round and schedule evaluation/diagnostic appointments as soon as we have an opening. Scheduling for therapy services takes place at the beginning of each semester, typically late December, mid-May and mid-August.
- Referrals are accepted from any source and referrals are made to other professionals and agencies as needed.
- When an individual initiates services with the Clinic, an evaluation is required to determine the need and/or nature of treatment.
Fees - The Charles E. and Geneva S. Scott Scottish Rite Communication Disorders Clinic is a fee-for-service clinic.
- All billing is handled by the Accounts Clerk.
- The clinic does not deny services to anyone solely on the basis of an inability to pay.
- Clients seeking financial assistance may apply to have fees reduced according to the sliding fee scale.
- The clinic accepts payment by cash, check or credit cards (Visa and MasterCard).
- Various payment plans may be arranged through the Clinic. We accept Medicaid for children up to 18 years of age and Medicare for audiology clients. Both require a medical referral which we will help to arrange.
- The Clinic also will file insurance forms for various third-party providers.
